Among them, 20 year old Jorine Najjemba from Nkowe, a university student and youth activist, stands out as the youngest aspirant so far, openly expressing her discontent with the current government system and calling for change.

Performative activism is when individuals or institutions express support for  a social or political cause in  a way that is more about appearing socially aware or gaining approval from the broader society. It often involves symbolic actions like posting hashtags, slogans, or signs about a certain societal issue. Recent examples include people posting #BlackLivesMatter messages or using #SavePalestine on social media.
